Split Systems
Wall Hung Split Systems
This type of system is the most highly recognized and most sold type of system in the world. Ease of installation, and the minor alterations required to install these into the house has meant that they are a quick, easy solutuion for a relatively low cost.
Currently innovations for this type of system are leaning toward inverter technology, which is a process whereby instead of a system turning off its compressor when the target temperature is achieved, the system actually winds back or slows down its output but remains on.
This has been done by coupling a D.C motor onto the compressor with a variable speed drive system, meaning the unit can achieve a greater efficiency and thus save you more money in its operational costs.
Floor/Ceiling Split Systems
Most floor systems like these are also capable of ceiling mounting, giving a flexible solution to needs.
The beauty of this system lies in the fact it can be mounted directly onto the floor, thus concealing all pipework, run underflooor to the external condenser. It is not neccessary to located this system onto an external wall, as is the case with wall hung systems, which gives a greater flexibility to where you would like to see the system located.
Also looks great under the bottom of windows, as most systems stand about 600-650mm high these look great occupying the dead area under most windows. They come in a variety of sizes up to 3.5 Horsepower.
Outside noise is also reduced with inverter technology. Wear and tear of a system is normally caused by the stop start characteristics of standard systems - so an inverter system should also be more enduring and long lasting.
While Inverter supply costs are slightly higher, the running costs are about 30% less than conventional systems so the additional expense is quickly recouped.
